The Lasting Appeal of eeBoo

Posted by Annie Messing

I discovered eeBoo as a young mother, looking for ways to engage my little ones when we were home. I Never Forget a Face was one we pulled out to play countless times. More than 15 years later, several of those early favorites are still on our family’s puzzle and game shelf.

The brand is easy to recognize almost immediately. The colors are cheerful, the illustrations feel pulled from a favorite picture book, and every game, card set, and puzzle feels thoughtfully designed.

But the artwork is only part of why I carry eeBoo in the shop.

Their products invite children to imagine, notice, remember, talk, and play with others. Story cards encourage open-ended storytelling. Matching games build memory and observation skills. Conversation cards help children think about feelings, relationships, and what might be happening in a scene. Traditional card games give families an easy reason to sit down together.

eeBoo was founded by Mia Galison more than 30 years ago, when she began building the company from her family’s home while raising three young children. That family-centered beginning still feels present in the brand today. These are products made for quiet afternoons, family game nights, and everyday moments when children are looking for something to do.

I also appreciate eeBoo’s attention to materials. Many of their products are made with recycled board, FSC-certified paper, and vegetable-based inks.

Most of all, eeBoo creates products that are educational without feeling like lessons and beautiful without being too precious to use. That combination has made eeBoo a lasting favorite in our home and an easy fit for Brimful.
